UVBee™ Beekeeping Jacket

It’s a very well made jacket but the mesh is very tight woven and attached to the fabric underneath it (which feels like a synthetic) so it does not let air flow in like other mesh jackets that I own.
I beekeep 12 months a year here in the Big Island and it’s rarely cooler than 80 degrees here and can easily bee in the 90’s. My 26 hives are out in full sun so inspections and harvesting every 3-5 weeks is a heated affair!
Also I need to wear a baseball cap under the hood as otherwise the hood falls down a bit into my face.
There are two small pockets situated well up on the sleeves…. What’s the purpose for those?
Hive tool? The wider end of my hive tool doesn’t fit in and if I put the narrow end in the tool is top heavy and falls out. Hmm. Pen pockets?
I would like at least one of the pockets on the body of the jacket to be a patch pocket with a closeable flap as my phone slips out of the style of pockets on the body of the jacket if I bend over, which I am continually doing at the apiary.
That said, I can tell it is well constructed, I love the plastic zippers (metal ones corrode here in the tropics) and the ease and simplicity with which the hood zips on and off for washing time. Love the velcros around the wrists which actually tighten snug enough for my wrists! It fits really nice against my body, almost like a sporty jacket,but again, a slight boxier cut would allow more airflow.

This jacket is so thoughtfully designed (as are the pants)! The material is soft enough that I don't wear much underneath, it's cooling (never feel sweaty), sleeves are generous and cinch at wrist with durable Velcro, veil has great visibility, extremely easy to zip on and off (just veil and entire jacket), and the pockets! Hallelujah. I never question any gaps because it's so well-made, which gives me the confidence and calm I need around bees. Highly recommend. Thank you!

The jacket is lightweight, it moves with you with adequate stretch. My favorite thing about the jacket is the wrist wraps! The velcro is easy to get to the just right tightness around my wrist. The attached veil is comfortable, stays off my face. The pockets are at the perfect angle, easy to reach in and out of for necessary tools. Best Bee Jacket I’ve owned!!

This just arrived, and I immediately put it on. The fabric is so lightweight and breathable but sturdy. Super high quality with deep pockets. The fabric is cool to the touch (impressive!), and it fits perfectly.. especially where it counts; around the waist and wrists. I can't wait to wear this in the heat of the high desert New Mexico sun this season.
